Chloe Cole Restoring Gen Z’s Identity: “I Was Failed by Modern Medicine”
Facing My Giants in Asking: “Who Am I?” – “Jesus Is the True Answer”

Chloe Cole–a transgender detransitioner–was guest speaker on Monday’s Salt and Light Council Lecture Series. Her journey revolves around medical “transition” of her biological sex as a female from ages 13-16 after informing her parents she identified as a transgender boy at 12. Within 7 months she had begun puberty blockers and one month later received her first testosterone shot at age 13. At the age of 15, Chole had top surgery: the removal of her breasts.
Despite health consultations, she was not made aware of long-term health effects that included developing urinary tract issues including blood clots. “I have irreversible changes, and I may face complications for the rest of my life. I was failed by modern medicine.
“We have giants we face. I had many Goliaths in my life: bullying, isolation, struggling in schools, bad teachers. I was told by those in authority in my life that I was actually a boy.
“Who am I?
“I was enamored with the ideology of transgenderism and its promise that by changing my sex, I could be in control of my destiny. For me, Chloe was not good enough. I wanted to be a boy named Leo, instead…But I had an epiphany. I had to choose to fight, to not be helpless, to outrun the demons that were slowly killing my soul. I was the real giant. I was my own enemy.
“I stopped taking testosterone. After that last injection, I never looked back. I can finally recognize myself in the mirror. I was coming out of the transgender lifestyle. I had a future. I was going to be grateful.
“I had been shy at school, but I began to speak out against the lies that were impacting thousands of children, creating more anguish than my own. Children were being mutilated.
“Transgenderism is absolutely a cult that encourages teens or leads them to suicide based on an ideology that impacts our institutions of health care, of education and allows the government to spread this movement knowing that it is never going to work because it is a movement of complete darkness and of deception. Teachers, social workers, doctors have committed evil by leading children into this ideology.
“This is why I broke my silence. I soon realized that I had a monumental calling to share my story to the whole world. But I still faced another giant. This giant was knowing: Who is God? My journey was rocky at first. I was getting death threats. I was testifying on legislative bills. I was speaking at church, but I was still agnostic.”
The transformation came when Chloe Cole was asked to speak at Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Newbury Park, California. Here she met Pastor Rob McCoy. He spent one hour sharing personally with her–not about transgenderism nor about politics–but about Jesus and His purposes for her life.
“With my newfound faith, I began my journey again. My inability to face the giants was because I lacked faith in something greater than me. My previous life had been wrapped up in an identity of a suicide cult–we know as transgenderism.
“When I became a Christian, I began to walk with a man who had walked much worse.
For every giant I have faced, He has faced much greater giants. Jesus gave us His life (even) for a fool like me and every single one of us.
“I want to walk in His footsteps. I want the whole world to know Him as Savior. My generation is facing a generational crisis of transgenderism, addictions, alcohol, pornography, lack of self worth and love of money. I now know that it is God who is the true answer to the questions we have–to the giants that we need to face.”
