Media Response to Stop AB 495 Rally Brings 3,000 To Sacramento Capitol

CALIRED NEWS–Media outlets from throughout California reporting on the Stop AB 495 Rally promoted by Chino Hills Calvary Pastor Jack Hibbs, the Capitol Research Institute and RealImpact.us helped bring 3,000 to the Sacramento Capitol for a Tuesday, Aug. 19 event that featured 15 speakers, 2,000 attendees lobbying legislators and resulted in the California bill authored by California Assemblywoman Celeste Rodriguez (D-43, San Fernando) being suspended on Monday.

In addition to coverage by CaliRed News, Katy Grimes of the California Globe reported extensively on the impact of ‘A Child Trafficker’s and Kidnapper’s Dream Bill’, which was originally posted in an Aug. 5 article: “The bill’s language applies to any child for any reason, regardless of immigration status.”

California Patriot Livestream posted a 13 minute-video clip of the 70-minute rally.

Real Live Network carried the event live nationwide and overseas with coverage also provided by KFI, NewsMax, and Fox News.

Two media outlets running editorials against AB 495 included: an article by Bridget Gabriel of the Crescent City Times and this article by Julie Reeder of the Village News.

Five California legislators spoke out against SB 495 at the Sacramento Capitol rally:

  • CA State Senator Shannon Grove (R-12);
  • CA State Senator Tony Strickland (R-36);
  • CA State Senator Roger Niello (R-6);
  • CA State Senator Marie Alvarado Gill (R-4); and
  • CA State Assemblyman James Gallager (R-3).

Four attorneys spoke out against AB 495 at the Capitol Rally:

  • Nathan Shackleford (First Liberty Institute, Texas);
  • Matt Sharp (Alliance Defending Freedom, Arizona);
  • Brad Dacus (Pacific Justice Institute, Sacramento, California);
  • Will Estrada (Homeschool Legal Defense Association, Virginia)
