There are so many stories making up the mosaic of national/international news that we can’t cover them all every week. The biggest stories now seem to be: Israel and Iran, the Trump presidency (lawfare and judges), immigration (migrants and illegals), wars, weaponization of government (the deep state) against Trump and conservatives, our nation’s debt, massive inflation, climate change controversy and related expenses of government, industry attempting to address these issues, the Chinese threat, national security, abortion, taxpayer cuts, Ukraine peace, and hatred and violence against Christians.

CALIRED NEWS–Some 112 Ventura County residents attended six workshops between July 23-26 to hear how Election Integrity Project Ca  is pursuing federal legislation that will bring about national election reform with Founder and President Linda Paine stating: “Congress needs to act to save the Republic” because “the current electoral system in numerous states lacks the safeguards to guarantee citizens that their rights are protected and their voice is heard.”

Redding Council To Decide On Raising Sales Tax By 1 Percent On Nov. 4 Ballot

August 5, 2025
CALIRED NEWS–The Redding City Council decided on a 4-1 vote (Agenda 9:12a2) this evening (Aug. 5) to place a 1 percent sales tax increase (to 8.25 percent) on the Nov. 4 general election ballot which if passed by voters would raise an estimated additional $30 million. The lone dissenting vote was made by Council Member Tenessa Audette who wanted to delay the vote from a special election this fall at a cost between $300,00–$500,000 to Nov. 3, 2026 (next year’s general election).

DENVER, CO–Attorneys for Tina Peters, the former Mesa County Clerk, a Republican now 69, argued today (July 22) before the United States Tenth Circuit District Court for the District of Colorado Chief Magistrate Judge Scott T. Varholak at the Alfred A. Arraj Courthouse (901 19th Street) that Peters’ imprisonment without bail violates her 1st Amendment rights.
