REDDING–“My destiny as well as your destiny is the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20 said Pastor Ché Ahn: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
Pastor Ché Ahn spoke to an audience of 80 at the Shasta County Republican Assembly Meet and Greet held Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Donaldson Fine Art Center. Special guests included: Redding City Council member Tenessa Audette; Shasta County Board of Supervisors Chair Kevin Crye and Shasta Board of Supervisor Matt Plummer; as well as Shasta County Clerk & Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis.
Revival & Reformation
“In 1962, we had revival but not reformation, which is when a society is transformed by the glory of God…The reason is because ‘Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people’ (Proverbs 14:24, NKJV). We were not operating under God’s authority: ‘Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you’ (Luke 10:19, NKJV).
“Revival is not reformation. Reformation is when a society is transformed by the glory of God…The kingdom of God is spiritual. It requires righteousness. You cannot have righteousness without the Holy Spirit. We have kingdom rule through the Holy Spirit. It begins with you and me. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We can have righteousness in government.”
My Early Life
“In 1960 when I was in first grade and having lunch, We would pray: ‘God is great, God is good. We thank Him for the food.’ But by 1961 there no longer was prayer in the schools and by 1962 there no longer was the Bible.”
“I am the son of a Korean pastor but became the first Korean hippie in North America. I didn’t cut my hair for three years. I was doing drugs at the age of 15 and my parents did not know what to do, except pray.”
“Don’t ever give up on your children…Today, I have 10 grandchildren…Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your family will be saved. California will be saved.
Spiritual Fathers
“I have had two spiritual fathers: Jack Hayford (former senior pastor of The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California, fifth president of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, Chancellor Emeritus of The King’s University, author, broadcaster and accomplished songwriter) who passed away in 2023” and “C. Peter Wagner (an American missionary in Bolivia, writer on spiritual warfare, teacher, and a leader in the Apostolic-Prophetic movement) who died in 2016,” said Pastor Ché Ahn.
“I later went to Bill Johnson, pastor of Bethel Church in Redding for a spiritual covering,” said Pastor Ché Ahn. (Bethel Church has grown under Pastor Johnson’s leadership from 2,000 members in 1996 to more than 11,000 by 2019. Pastor Johnson, a fifth-generation pastor, was impacted by the Toronto Blessing revival and influenced by Pastor John Wimber of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Anaheim. Pastor Johnson co-founded the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, which has drawn over 2,000 students from 57 countries around the world).
“Pastor Bill and I were at a conference in Minneapolis and after we prayed for everyone, we received prayer and both of us were slain in the spirit (resting in His Presence) on the floor but we had fallen (next to each other) and formed the shape of California.
“Northern California was joined with Southern California for the greatest revival in the history of California. We are now seeing the fulfillment of a historic revival and reformation.”

Reaching Gen Z
“I am campaigning at major universities. Other candidates don’t go to campuses because there is no money (doing so). I am seeking young voters.
“I had a beautiful relationship with Charlie Kirk (Turning Point USA) and have a relationship with Pastor Rob McCoy (his pastor).
“We are doing a campaign next year from April 7-11 that will end with a conference at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Saturday, April 11) with evangelist Nathan Morris, Shake The Nations ministry, that moves in miracles, signs, and wonders.”
Training Children
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV)
“California has passed bill after bill that attacks our children and families. This totalitarian system has taken away parental rights.”
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse” (Malachi 4:5-6, NKJV).
“Some 12 years ago, I was first called Papa Ché and I didn’t like it at first–It made me sound old.” Papa Ché says he doesn’t think the same way now.
Housing & Affordable Homes
“There is a spirit of stupidity in Sacramento. We pay the highest taxes in the nation.
The median price of homes in Los Angeles is $950,000. When I become Governor, we will build 500,000 homes a year (without the regulations that hold back the developers).”
Homelessness
“My friend Pastor Matt Barnett (Los Angeles Dream Center), has done so much for the homeless by (seeing) them saved and discipled and given job training. He teaches the homeless: skills like carpentry and plumbing where they become productive citizens and all without a dime from the government (so he can preach the gospel to them).
“I would like to give Christian ministries with a proven track record: government funding.
“We need the homeless off the streets to protect the citizens. They need to go to treatment centers and if they refuse they can go to our prisons–those who have committed felonies…I believe in law and order. Our streets need to be safe. We should be able to walk on the streets of our cities.
“Prayer and counseling can assist those with mental health issues. We want to solve mental health issues with over-medication. We have gone only with science (professional psychologists) but not with good ministries that deal with healing and deliverance. I know that even those who have lost their cognitive abilities can have them restored through prayer.
“Some 35 percent of Californians live in poverty. How can this be in a State which has a GDP (Gross Domestic Product: an economic measure of the total market values of goods and services produced) of $4.1 trillion–which if California was a nation–would be the fifth largest GDP in the world…We need to balance the State budget (removing the $20 billion deficit budget). Where is our money going? We have spent $48 billion on a bullet train from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
“We need an audit in every State department. On Day One (of my election as Governor), I would DOGE (create a Department of Government Efficiency) and do a statewide audit…We have so much corruption. We have too many bureaucrats who have no motivation to solve problems or have them go away because their jobs and income would go away. We need to do a lot of firing of government employees…I am a Conservative Republican who believes in a small government.”
Suicide
“I will issue an Executive Order to deal with kids killing themselves. Suicide is becoming the number one killer of our kids.”
Proposition 50
“We need more representation not less,” said Ché Ahn in response to the gerrymandering of California Congressional districts through Proposition 50 taking away the existing districts (until 2030) away from what had been created by the independent bipartisan California Citizens Redistricting Commission. “Republicans don’t have proper representation.”
Ahn went on to say that he believed California’s state legislators had districts that were too large and needed to be reduced in size.
Regulations
“We need to get rid of the woke ideology that has shut down our energy and housing affordability. We need to put a pause on CEQA (the California Environmental Quality Act passed in 1970) that has impacted housing, farming, and ranching (land use).
“We have water that cannot be used because of the delta smelt fish. We have the water supply (for millions of residents and farmers) we cannot access.”
According to Ché Ahn, it is CEQA that is stopping the construction of new, affordable, large-scale housing developments that would benefit vulnerable communities the most–all in the name of environmental and climate justice.
Energy & Water
“We need to lower gas prices. There is a correlation between crude oil and food prices. We pay the highest taxes because of our energy problem. We have the energy we need but our problem is the environmentalists that worship the climate…We can have nuclear plants that are safe.
“We have petroleum we are not producing. We have two refineries that are closing in 2026. When this happens, gas experts say that our fuel prices will go up to $8 a gallon.”
