“Take Our California Back” Moderators Praise Shasta County Election Reform

Five GOP Candidates Promote Themselves for Governor

REDDING, CA–Both Kim Yeater and Dr. Douglas G. Frank, moderators for Thursday’s “Take Our California Back” Forum praised Shasta County election reform and transparency efforts led by Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis in an event in which drew five GOP candidates promoting themselves for governor to the election office in the morning and a crowd of almost 100 attendees at Faith Community Church, 2570 S. Bonnyview Road, in the evening.

The five GOP candidates running for California Governor that participated in the “Take Our California Back” Forum included from left to right (above): Lewis Herms, Scott Shields, Leo Zacky, David Collenberg, and Coby Marcum. A “Take Your Power Back” California Governor Showdown on Nov. 8 at Awaken Church in San Marcos featured 13 GOP candidates.

According to moderator Kim Yeater, radio show host of “Take Your Power Back”: “Shasta County is such an example of what our country needs to be. Election transparency and election reform right here in Shasta is leading the charge for all of us.”

Moderator Dr. Douglas G. Frank, a national election expert, said: “This is our opportunity to lead the cause for election transformation and election reform in every county and every city in this Golden State of California. Yesterday, I was in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) talking to several legislators. I was bragging over you. There is no better (election) system in the country. You need to stand and hold the line and continue on reforming elections. Much of the success that I have had as I’ve gone across the country is your success. You stood up and made it happen. Thank you for helping me.”

“What is wrong with elections? Is it the machines? Is it the voter rolls?” The problem is:

“In every state in America, elections are now centrally-controlled by the state,” said Dr. Frank.

“The solution is to have local control–to have your eyes, your hands in the counting rooms on signature verification,” said Dr. Frank after showing a power point slide that asked the question: “Who is responsible for the integrity of our elections?”

In another slide, Dr. Frank showed the Election History for Shasta County which compared young voters (18+) with registered voters, those that voted and the population trend from 1992 to 2024. The data showed that 26,100 more registered than the population trend (an increase of 29%)

According to Dr. Frank, “One in three people registered don’t vote.” He said this becomes a huge problem when everyone receives a ballot mailed to their residence. What happens to the ballots received by those who don’t vote?

Yeater said that in the 2024 elections she went to her polling place with her husband and was told that she had already voted (which she hadn’t) and was given a provisional ballot which may not end up being counted. She said that the person in front of her in the voting line was also told they had voted.
