WASHINGTON, D.C.–“The government–they lied” stated a CIA whistleblower testifying today before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee about a COVID coverup.

Testimony was given by senior intelligence Central Intelligence Agency officer James Erdman III, a decorated former officer of the United States Army’s 2nd Ranger Battalion Regiment.

Erdman’s testimony under oath came before only Republican Senators sitting on the Homeland Security Committee:

• Chair Senator Dr. Rand Paul (R-KY)
• Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI)
• Senator James Lankford (R-OK)
• Senator Rick Scott (R-FL)
• Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO)
• Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH)
• Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA)
• Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL)

None of the Democrat Senators showed up to the U.S. Senate chambers to hear Erman’s testimony. Those who should have been present but were absent included:

• Ranking Senator Gart Peters (D-MI)
• Sensor Maggie Hassan (D-NH)
• Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT)
• Senator John Fetterman (D-PA)
• Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ)
• Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ)
• Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI)

The Homeland Security Act of 2002, established the Department of Homeland Security which in 2003 adopted primary oversight of the creation and subsequent policies, operations, and actions of the department . The committee has oversight over government accountability, congressional ethics, regulatory affairs, and systems and information security.

Senator Dr. Rand Paul, committee chairman, is the only Senate committee chair who can issue subpoenas without a committee vote. Senator Paul in announcing the hearing last week wrote in an X post: “The truth is coming. I have been demanding accountability from Anthony Fauci and exposing his role in the massive OVID-19 cover-up in the media for years.”

“What we are going to find is that the cover up is a real thing, that there are members of the community, the intelligence community, that still don’t want the truth to come out. I’ve said the government was involved not only in funding this research, but then in trying to obscure the truth. And the truth is the US government funded research in Wuhan, China, and that research led to a virus that escaped, escaped the lab, in all likelihood accidentally.”

According to U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH), the government response led by Dr. Anthony Fauci led to “American kids deprived of their childhood, businesses detoured, families destroyed, loved ones dying without their families…It is an outrage and disgrace that not one Democrat Senator (is present for this hearing.”

Florida Republican Senator Ashley Moody said that Florida “took the lead” in moving forward without COVID restrictions such as wearing masks, keeping six-foot distance from others and opening up schools and churches once again.

Dr. Rand Paul has continually called for Fauci’s indictment as the Trump Justice Department sits on a criminal referral.

The U.S. Republican Senators during their comments mentioned that Xavier Becerra who is running for California Governor in 2026, the 25th United States Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Joe Biden (from 2021 to 2025), was mostly absent and unengaged during the COVID crisis. 

Opinion: What Can We Do Now?

• Have scientists and medical experts in charge of issued reports, not deep state bureaucrats.
• Separate funding conflicts that exist in the scientific community.
• Seek voices that do not agree with the messaged scientific narrative.
• Fire still employed agency staff engaged in keeping reports classified or actively engaged in cover-up of the truth.
• Indict Dr. Anthony Fauci and make him accountable for the lives he destroyed and for injuring “we the people.”
