Reform California BBQ, Beer & Ballot Event Set Sept. 30:

ANDERSON–A Reform California BBQ, Beer & Ballot event featuring Assembly members Carl DeMaio & Heather Hadwick is set for Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Frontier Senior Center, 2081 Frontier Trail from 6-7:30 p.m.
DeMaio, is founder of Reform California and represents District 75 in San Diego County while Assembly member Heather Hadwick serves District 1 which encompasses much of rural Northern California. The Shasta County event is one of 50 Reform California events running from Sept. 29 to Nov. 1.
Reform California is hosting “Barbeque, Beer, and Ballot” free events across the state to make voting easy, secure, and fun and to support Proposition 39–the Voter ID measure–and Proposition 43–which will make it harder for politicians to raise taxes.
Those attending will:
- Receive Reform California’s English Voter Guide (describing all the ballot measures and endorsements in every candidate race–including school board and judge races);
- Learn how to Verify Your Vote Gets Counted (using the online portal);
- Have an opportunity to get involved in October canvassing door-to-door (especially to “low propensity voters).

Reform California has released a list of 26 seats being targeted which includes 5 congressional seats (defending James Gallagher, District 1 seat) and 21 state legislative seats.
Reform California was founded as a political action committee in 2003 by Carl DeMaio. Since then, Reform California has uncovered numerous cases of financial mismanagement and corruption in state and local governments.
Reform California has led over two dozen initiative campaigns. In 2018, Reform California collected over 1 million signatures to qualify Proposition 6–the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative and in 2022 collected over 1.4 million signatures to qualify the California Taxpayer Protection Act. To date, Reform California has defeated over 300 tax hike proposals on the ballot saving Californians over $32 billion.
