CA Voter ID Initiative Hits 712,000 Signatures In Just 2 Months

REDDING–The California Voter Initiative has already reached over 712,000 signatures of the 874,641 signatures needed to force the issue on the 2026 statewide ballot in just the first two months according to CA State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio, R-75, San Diego (Chair Reform California) speaking in front of a crowd of 50 petition gatherers at Faith Community Church, 2570 S. Bonneyview Road.

Trump championed a gerrymandering measure through the State Legislature Thursday, Aug. 21 (the Assembly voted 57 to 20 and the Senate voted 30-8) that eliminates four Republican Congressional California seats and will now go to the voters in a special Nov. 4 election that will cost California taxpayers $200 million and still face legal hurdles.

Newsom Calls Special Nov. 4 Election to Eliminate GOP CA Congressional Seats

CALIRED NEWS–Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom announced today (at an Aug. 14 press conference in downtown Los Angeles) that he is calling a special election on Nov. 4th to tear up the state’s congressional map in favor of a gerrymandered map that eliminates Republican seats and will counter Texas efforts to remove five Democrat seats despite California voters having voted in a state constitutional amendment to create an “independent” redistricting commission that looks at congressional districts every 10 years.
