Reform California Hits 1 Million Signatures for Voter ID Campaign

ESCONDIDO–Reform California announced at a Jan. 7 zoom webinar that the California Voter ID Initiative has now received 1,001,287 signatures. Since 874,641 “valid” signatures are required to qualify for the 2026 ballot–200,000 additional signatures are being sought. A campaign internal audit shows that signatures gathered by volunteers have an 88 percent validity rate. The petition drive has a 75 percent validity rate overall. “I do not trust California Democrats,” said Reform California Chairman Carl DeMaio–”so I believe it is absolutely necessary that we collect 200,000 extra signatures on CA Voter ID petitions as an ‘insurance policy.’

ESCONDIDO–Reform California announced at a Dec. 17 zoom webinar that the California Voter ID Initiative has now received 820,000 signatures – and with only 180,000 signatures left to collect, the campaign is asking all volunteers to mail back their signatures no later than Dec. 31. “This is the final stretch,” says Reform California Chairman Carl DeMaio. “If you have signatures, get them in now.”

CA Voter ID Initiative Hits 712,000 Signatures In Just 2 Months

REDDING–The California Voter Initiative has already reached over 712,000 signatures of the 874,641 signatures needed to force the issue on the 2026 statewide ballot in just the first two months according to CA State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio, R-75, San Diego (Chair Reform California) speaking in front of a crowd of 50 petition gatherers at Faith Community Church, 2570 S. Redding Council To Decide On Raising Sales Tax By 1 Percent On Nov. 4 Ballot

CALIRED NEWS–The Redding City Council decided on a 4-1 vote (Agenda 9:12a2) this evening (Aug. 5) to place a 1 percent sales tax increase (to 8.25 percent) on the Nov. 4 general election ballot which if passed by voters would raise an estimated additional $30 million. The lone dissenting vote was made by Council Member Tenessa Audette who wanted to delay the vote from a special election this fall at a cost between $300,00–$500,000 to Nov. 3, 2026 (next year’s general election).
