WASHINGTON, DC–GOP Congressional District 1 lawmaker Doug LaMalfa dies at 65 in a hospital in Chico of a heart attack that occurred during surgery to treat an aneurysm. He is survived by his wife, Jill, and four children. He was an owner and manager of DSL LaMalfa Family Partnership, which owns and operates the family rice farm in Richvale, California.

Retiring City Manager Proposes Two Options to Solve Redding’s Budget Deficit

CALIRED NEWS–Retiring City Manager Barry Tippin proposed two options to solve Redding’s budget deficit near the end of the Tuesday, Sept. 16 City Council meeting.
The Redding City Manager’s presentation came following an oral report made by the City of Redding Public Works’ Street Division which outlined the City’s Pavement Condition Index that showed the majority of Redding’s roads were in the Poor Zone not in the Fair Zone nor in the Good Zone.
