The Top-Two Primary Was Supposed To Change California Politics. Did It Flop?

June 10, 2026
For all the talk of a governor’s race between two Republicans, or even two Democrats, it’s looking like voters are in for a typical partisan matchup in November.
In predictably Democratic California, there’s no need for a political science degree or a crystal ball to confidently predict the result of a general election face-off between Xavier Becerra, the current Democratic front-runner, and former Fox News host Steve Hilton, a Republican.

Ongoing California Ballot Counting Sparks Allegations of Election Fraud

Tina Peters Is Free

June 1, 2026
The 70-year-old former Colorado elections clerk was released Monday following Gov. Jared Polis’ May commutation of her nine-year sentence on felony charges for her role in breaching the county’s election voting systems and equipment in 2021. She was concerned that there were irregularities in the 2020 presidential election, where Joe Biden received a mind-bending 81 million votes despite campaigning mostly from his basement. She was worried that Dominion Voting Systems machines had potentially been compromised.
