“Americans’ biblical worldview has gone down from six percent in 2020 to four percent in 2023.”

“The church is the doctor for America. Christians have the answer. We have the Word of God. We have the Spirit of God. But, we are sitting back, intimidated, scared and falsely believing that we are not supposed to speak up.

“Homosexual marriage is the law of the land. A million babies are killed through abortion in America every year. America is very sick and very ill.”

Richard Harris quoting Charles Finney–the passionate revivalist preacher; second president of Oberlin College from 1851 to 1865; an abolitionist who believed in universal education regardless of race or sex–warned that “God will bless or curse this nation, according to the course Christians take in politics.”

Harris in his Salt and Light Council Lecture shared “that Christians are called to engage in politics” by destroying “the Satanic Lie of Secularism;” “restoring Biblical truths to the Church;” and by following “the Powerful Example set by Our Christian Founding Fathers of Engaging Government at Every Level.”

Richard Harris outlined the importance of Sir William Blackstone’s Commentaries–The Commentaries on The Laws of England–which were originally published by the Clarendon Press at Oxford between 1765 and 1769. These commentaries played an important role in the writing of the Declaration of Independence–mostly written by Thomas Jefferson: the leading proponent of democracy, republicanism and natural rights (natural law)–that was adopted unanimously by delegates from the Thirteen Colonies of the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.

According to Harris, “the Law of God is found in nature and in the Holy Bible. America’s birth is inseparable from Christianity.” But what happened to America? How did we get into this secularism?”

Harris claims that it was Charles Darwin–the English naturalist, geologist, and biologist of the 19th century widely known for his evolutionary biology and his theories on species of life– and John Dewey–the 20th century American philosopher, psychologist, and educational reformer that spread a doctrine of “secular humanism” promoting secular government and secular education–both against America’s founding documents especially the Declaration of Independence.

Twentieth century rulings or laws that pushed the Church out of Public Life were made in 1947, 1962, 1963, 1971, 1980, and 1981.

According to Harris, the Church since 2017 has begun moving toward A Great Awakening–returning back into public life.
