SAN DIEGO–Senate District 18 Candidate Bishop Art Hodges has received endorsements from Reform California Chairman Carl DeMaio, (R-75) Assembly District, North and East San Diego County; Senator Brian Jones (R-40) inland San Diego County; Senator Shannon Grove (R-12) southern Central Valley and High Desert; and Retired Senator Mike Morrell (R-23) Rancho Cucamonga as well as 4 GOP Counties which include: San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, and San Bernardino.

Bishop Art Hodges is running on a campaign platform which calls for:

A: Affordability (Housing, Gas & Utilities, and Cost of Living)

(Note: The typical San Diego household has an income of $105,000 but $125,000 plus is needed to live comfortably. “Even average families are falling behind.”)

Bishop Art Hodges was raised in Southern California since infancy. He was his College Class President, a School Principal, College Chancellor, and Pastor of 40 years, overseeing hundreds of churches, pastors and ministers in Southern California. He has served as CEO and is on numerous Boards of Directors.

In 2020-21, Bishop Art Hodges successfully led the effort against California Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to COVID, winning two decisive U.S. Supreme court rulings to reopen Houses of Worship–never to be shut down again.

As a longtime political independent, he authored “60 plus Contrasts of the Democrat & Republican Party Platforms in 2016, revised in 2020, revised again in 2024. This is published in a nonpartisan booklet available at https://www.biblicalvoter.com/.

Now as a registered Republican, his mission priorities are Faith, Family, Freedom & Future.

With Rosa, his wife of 48 years, they have three married children with college degrees for medical, legal, and financial careers, with six grandchildren (ages one month to 17 years old), all residents of Chula Vista, CA (San Diego County).
