How Will God Make America Great Again?

2 Chronicles 17, 19

A. Making America Great Again – The famous French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville, toured America, studying our democracy in 1831-1832. This was during the revival called “The 2nd Great Awakening” (1795 -1835). After listening to pastors preaching from the Bible, he declared, “America is great because she is good. If America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.” He was right! “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). The 2nd Great Awakening also led to the abolitionist movement and to the Civil War, which freed the enslaved African Americans! Now, America has been in moral decline for a long time. Can God make America good and great again? Yes! He is even bringing a 3rd Great Awakening, with Americans turning back to Him, a revival of our hearts and minds, and a reformation of America based on biblical Judeo-Christian values.

B. God Made Judah Great Again! – The Bible tells us that Judah had fallen into idolatry, sexual immorality, sacrificing their children to idols, and had been plagued for generations with wars and economic problems. That sounds like America! Then God chose a leader, with flaws, to help restore Judah to greatness. What? Sometimes, God chooses flawed people to do His will, then He gets the glory, not them. David committed adultery and murder, then repented. God saved his life in battle and still used him. Moses disobeyed and repented. God still used him to lead His people (Numbers 20:1-13).  Even so, people judged them both, lied against them, even hated them. God will choose flawed people to restore America. First, let’s look at who God chose and how God led him to restore Judah.

  1. God chose King Jehoshaphat, who had flaws, but God was with him, because he usually followed God’s leading, not the ways of other people and nations (2 Chronicles 17:3-6).
  2. God used him to strengthen the nation against their enemies (2 Chronicles 17:1).
  3. God used him to fund the military and place them in garrisons along the border (2 Chronicles 17:2).
  4. God used him to build walls around cities which were for protection (2 Chronicles 17:2).
  5. God used him to remove false ideologies (2 Chronicles 17:6).
  6. God used him to invest in education (2 Chronicles 17:7).
  7. God used him to send the Levites out to teach the word of God to the people (2 Chronicles 17:7-9).
  8. God used him to cause their enemies to fear God and his nation (2 Chronicles 17:10).
  9. God used him to negotiate trade deals, increasing their economy (2 Chr. 17:11) and employment levels.
  10. God used him to increase the size of the military, spreading it out to more areas (2 Chronicles 17:12).
  11. God used a prophet to rebuke him when helped the wicked king of Israel, what at that time was an enemy nation (2 Chronicles 19:2). Yes, God’s leaders make mistakes.
  12. God used him to appoint righteous judges throughout the land (2 Chronicles 19:5-9).
  13. God used him to appoint leaders to enforce the law, making communities safer (2 Chronicles 19:10).
  14. God used him to appoint righteous leaders throughout the land (2 Chronicles 19:8, 9, 11).
  15. God used him to encourage the people to return to God (2 Chronicles 19:4).

Using these policies, based on biblical values, God made Judah good and great again.

C. Christians and Jews in America – Ancient Judah was a theocratic monarchy, but God led our  forefathers, as early as 1607, to make a covenant dedicating this land to Him as a Christian nation. Later, they included freedom of religion for all. God will keep this covenant with us if we love and obey Him (Deuteronomy 7:9). Yet, even before that covenant, Jews were included in America. When? Five arrived in 1492. Jews fought alongside us in the Revolutionary War, even helping finance our Continental Army. In  1787, God helped our founding fathers make America a democratic republic, where we vote for our leaders, who then are to represent us, and to represent Him and His biblical, Judeo-Christian values.  As believers in God, He holds us, Christians and Jews, responsible for: praying for America, speaking  truth, and voting according to God’s standards. Before voting, we must seek God and examine each politician’s “fruit” (Matthew 7:17-20), their track records. Do they stand for God’s righteous values?

D. Comparing King Jehoshaphat and An American President – Now, let’s look at all God  accomplished through another one of His flawed, but chosen leaders, an American president who loves God and wants to serve America. He is human and makes mistakes, but God is still using him. Read and compare 1 above with 1 below, 2 above with 2 below, etc. Then think of all God could do for America and Americans if all believers, Jews and Christians, supported him and voted for other men and women, who are willing to stand up for God’s righteousness. God could make America good and great again!  1b. God sent 3 signs that He’s chosen this president, who has flaws, yet God’s hand is still on him.

  1. God sent 3 signs that He’s chosen this president, who has flaws, yet God’s hand is still on him.
  2. God used him to stand up against our enemies: North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, and drug cartels.
  3. God used him to rebuild the U.S. military, to increase its budget, to help vets by giving the right to go to any health agency, and to give 3 pay raises to the military.
  4. God used him to build almost 500 miles of wall protecting our border, to institute policies which better control immigration, and to enforce existing immigration and deportation laws.
  5. God used him to promote Dr Martin Luther King Jr.’s teaching of judging individuals on the content of our character and not according to the color of our skin, by removing the false ideologies of: Race-based DEI and Critical Race Theory from federal agencies and schools, CRT judges whole races, pitting American against Americans! Children fell blamed and shamed as oppressors, or felt they were victims who could never succeed. A nation divided against itself cannot stand (Matthew 12:25). All racism is evil, so is falsely accusing a whole ethnicity of racism.
  6. God used him to invest in education: for veterans, for career training, and for Black Universities; to sign the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, to sign 3 bills supporting Native Americans’ culture and sovereignty and to sign the Economic Empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
  7. God used him to allow funds for religious institutions and to promote school choice.
  8. God used his actions against our enemies to cause them to fear and respect America, to stop North Korea’s intercontinental Ballistic Missile testing, to stop Iran’s production of nuclear bombs and destroy ballistic missiles they planned to use against us and Israel; to stop Russian’s building of Nord Stream 2. That would have made parts of Europe dependent on Russia for oil and to prevent some individuals associated with China from stealing our intellectual property.
  9. God used him to negotiate unfair trade deals that are more favorable to America, helping our economy and American workers; to cut regulations and taxes (no tax on tips, overtime, Social Security, etc, benefiting all income levels, generating jobs and an economic boom, and to bring down the unemployment rates for women and for all ethnic groups. When the Strait of Hormuz opens, gas prices will again lower, and our economy will again improve.
  10. God used him to increase military enlistment and to add the Space Force’s additional protection.
  11. God used him to support Israel, our ally, for God will bless those who bless Jews and the nation of Israel and curse those who curse them (Numbers 24:9) to move our embassy to Jerusalem, to annually authorize their aid; and is working to stop Iran’s terrorism against Israel and the world.
  12. God used him against more than 280 federal judges and 3 Supreme Court justices who are constitutionalist, not activists, and will judge cases righteously according to the constitution and our laws, to send decision about abortion back to the states, and to uphold federal law, who are stopping our federal taxes from paying for abortions in America/abroad.
  13. God used him to sign criminal justice reform and to offer help to make communities safer; to round up violent criminals, gangs, rapists, pedophiles, and murders, to deport those that were here illegally; to lower violent crime and violent protests; and to reduce fraud and corruption.
  14. God used him to campaign for people he thinks will be righteous leaders across America.
  15. God used him to promote religious freedom at home and abroad, to combat anti-Christina bias and anti-Semetic campus violence; and to call for a national “Rededicate 250.” This will lead to the 3rd Great Awakening, revival in our hearts and minds, and reformation of America!

Using these policies, based on biblical values, God will make America good and great again!

E. Praying, Speaking Up, and Voting According to Biblical Standards – Will voting for those who follow God’s ways and biblical values help make America good and great again? Yes! The Bible says to God’s believers, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men” (Matthew 5:13-14). If Christians and Jews say and do nothing about politics and moral issues, we’ve lost our flavor. The world has “thrown us out,” are “trampling” us, and are silencing and persecuting us. They are trying to take away our God-given rights and freedoms, dragging down the morals of America, and indoctrinating our children with their worldviews. The Bible says, “You are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16). America is in spiritual darkness if we say and do nothing about politics and morality, Satan’s filling the void. We’re not letting our light shine. God’s given each of us, rabbis, pastors, priests, and believers, responsibility for our spheres of influence. For the sake of America, our families, and future generations, we all must stand together, pray, speak up, and vote! Share this article with others! Ask God to place His hand on you so you may boldly speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

F. Several Current Issues and What the Bible Says about Them:

1. Freedom of Religion, Speech, and Assembly, – It’s our choice to have a religion or not (Joshua 24:15) and to speak and assemble freely without governmental interference (1st Amendment).

2. Abortion – God calls a fetus a child at the moment of conception, both male and female (Job 3:3).  God cares for the life and health of a pregnant mother and of her unborn baby (Exodus 21:22-25), so should  we. God forms us and knows us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5). We’re to speak up for those who cannot  speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9). Abortion is equivalent to child sacrifice, the killing of babies for the convenience or beliefs of the parents (Deuteronomy 12:31; Leviticus 18:21; Jeremiah 32:35) and God brought judgment for this abomination to individuals and to nations (Ezekiel 20:31-34; Leviticus 18:21-25). God hates when hands shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17).

3. Parental Rights in Education – Children are a gift of God to their parents (Psalm 127:3-5), so parents are responsible for their upbringing. Parents must know about and have a say in their children’s education (Deuteronomy 6:7; Proverbs 22:6), especially about sex, sexuality, and morality. God only made two genders, male and female (Genesis 1:27), which are in the genes and chromosomes of every cell in our bodies and cannot be changed. Parents and children have been pressured to accept falsehoods!

-Using believers, God will make America good and great again! Will you pray, speak up, and vote?
